More turners announced for major Nuneaton woodturning event
Axminster Tools & Machinery has added three new names to the line-up for the major woodturning event –10 Turners Turning featuring Ready Steady Turn - at their store in Nuneaton in March. Mark Hancock, Stuart Mortimer and Mark Baker, will all be demonstrating at the event and taking part in the Ready Steady Turn competition.
The full line-up for this event is very impressive. As well as the names mentioned above, Stuart King and Gary Rance (both winners of Strictly Woodturning), the hat man Andrew Hall, Phil Irons, Richard Findley, local turner Steve Heeley and Axminster’s Colwin Way will also be part of the event.
There will be a wide range of Jet and Axminster lathes on display, including the Jet 4224B and Axminster’s Hobby and Trade ranges; this event will provide a good opportunity to see many different lathes in action together with the Evolution and Clubman chucks and the new Evolution Series of woodturning accessories.
Well known carver, Peter Berry, will be at the event on the Saturday and, over the two days, there will be demonstrations of pen turning, pyrography, scroll sawing and sharpening with Tormek – all carried out by Axminster staff.
On a more international note, Nuneaton will be welcoming TORNyFUSTA’s Miguel Lopez from Majorca. Miguel will be demonstrating with his thread turning kit and providing information on the courses he runs in Majorca.
Top suppliers Chestnut, Crown and Hermes (Friday only) will also be on hand to talk about their products and the best use of them.
The dates for diaries are Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd March 2014 from 10am-4pm at Axminster Tools & Machinery, Bermuda Trade Park, Nuneaton CV10 7RA. This is a FREE, non-ticketed event; AT&M anticipate that the more central location of Nuneaton will attract many visitors as it is within five minutes of the M6.
