Deneb Puchalski, hand tool and sharpening guru from Lie-Nielsen, will be visiting the North West this April and will be running a free one day course at G&S Timber in the Lake District.
The course, titled ‘Hand Tools Demystified with Deneb Puchalski’, will cover the following areas:
This is a hands-on course and by the end of the day, those attending will have an understanding of what a truly sharp edge is and how a tool should feel in the hand. Mastering a craft takes repetition and this class will provide the skills needed to make tools perform at their best.
Deneb is the lead demonstrator for Lie-Nielsen Hand Tool Events® and has travelled across North America and the UK teaching people about Lie-Nielsen tools. Deneb studied woodworking at the ‘Center for Furniture Craftsmanship’ in Rockport, Maine. He then went on to become an assistant instructor and artist-in residence at that school, during which time he honed his woodworking skills and sense of design. In addition to contributing articles to various woodworking magazines, Deneb is the leading talent for Lie-Nielsen’s YouTube instructional videos about hand tools and woodworking. His passion and enthusiasm for the tools he works with are clear to all who have seen him in action.
The course venue is situated in the beautiful and dramatic countryside of the Lake District. There is a café on the premises and plenty of hotels nearby. To attend this course in the USA would normally cost the equivalent of £150.
