I have been working on this for a little while now, it was a small request from the great grandson.

It is 22" long 6 1/2" wide and 10 1/2" tall and strong enough for a small child to sit on the cab. The number is his dad's banger racing number and it is called Toby the Tank engine as he wanted it for his 1 year old brother of the same name. As can be seen it is based on Thomas the tank engine but with differences.

All the round parts are turned on the lathe.

Snoopy is there as part of a joke on an Australian website and is called my little helper

Thank you Robbie and Dennis.

I certainly get a lot of pleasure out of making this type of thing and to see the faces of the grand kids when they receive them as that is who I mainly make them for.

Thank you guys. The face was quite easy to do as there is just enough detail

Sorry Derek - missed this somewhere along the line. What a great job! I have a new grandson who would love something like this. At 8 months he's a bit too small at the minute, but at least it give me time to have a go!

Man thats awesome, my son would love something like that, hes totally head over heels for thomas the train. How many hours did you put into this and did you build this from any plans, or just using pictures as models?

Hi Robster and thank you, glad you like it. It took me 2 months to build. That is from start to finished paint work but I was also making other bits as well so you can dramatically reduce that time if you was only building this by its self.

It is built using some plans that I found on the internet except for the face which I carved from pictures that I found. If you are interested in a set then send me a PM with your e mail address.
