Great job Jay, I know nothing about building musical instruments and from what I've read I don't think it's something I would ever attempt.. How long did it take to finish? Congrats.

took me a bit of time want to make sure there was not going to be to much movement in the wood planned it and left the wood in the house for a month before i when near it took me about 4 months it was a labour love since i play banjo

Another instrument maker on here! I was starting to get a bit lonely

Lovely looking instrument, Jay. Do you have any pictures of the build in progress? What did you you use for the body former? I once saw a list of truck brake-drums (by model and year) available in US scrap yards that could be used as banjo formers

sorry paul its been awhile this is a block build pot lot more stable i have pics of the build ill put them up i am trying to build a harp for a friend you dont have ay plans do you
