Enjoyed making the first one like this that I thought that I would just knock out a second one again Hawthorne size 5" tall by 5" across.

Well done Derek, that seems to be a huge chunk missing, must have been fun turning! I've never used Hawthorn before its a lovely looking wood. Congrats.

Thank you all. Been out today to do the last three and managed to stuff up the first 2 will go and try the third one later.

Gentle cutting is the answer and not to noisey Eric except the odd chatter when I presented the tool wrong.

Simon the tool I used for the hollowing is a Robert sorby RS130KT Midi hollower, the outside I used a mixture of the roughing gouge and spindle gouge.
