I like that a lot Dennis, the grain is fantastic, I really admire the skill this has taken and the finish is what I can only aspire to. Great piece.

hi Carl thank you for your comments. the finish is throu all the grits to 400 and 1 coat of sand sealer burnished with shavings and then a coat of melamine mix that our club pro makes and sells to us. dennis

Hi Dennis, nice bowl, are you sure that it is sycamore? It look's like ash to me.

No problem dennis, still a beautiful piece of wood and a brilliant finish that really show's the grain to full affect.

Hi Dennis -- Very nice platter youv'e done there, the finish is the same as I use it seems pretty durable. I think I must have missed a post or two along the line somewhere, what is the new lathe that you have ?

Hi Dennis -- Age is getting to me faster that I had hoped, I don't remember anything about this post but I seem to have commented on it ! Anyway it looks like a good piece of kit you should be very happy with it.

Great looking platter! The grain is amazing with the finish and the size is just enough to store some fruits.
