I have to make a Braced and ledged door 760mm wide by 1980mm high for an old garage

to keep the cost down I was looking at making it from 47 x 175 sawn dry graded to C16 treated wood any comments on using this wood rather tha premium planed

Personally I wouldn`t go for C16, it tends to be fast grown white wood.

If sawn redwood is available & in budget I`d go for that, otherwise I`d be looking for reclaimed pine, which if you can get in the sizes you need would be ideal.

Cheers.

Doug
