this is my latest project that i have been on with. it is a earing stand and ring bowl.

here are photos of it.

mahogany earing stand

i think if i make another one i will try it in oak or walnut.

no the timber is mahogany not really happy with the timber but the design has turned out well i have notist that i have a bit of bamboo work top so i may use that and see what it turns out like.thank you for the compliments

Very nice Dennis. I suspect if I showed this to the work colleague I made several "mushroom" earring stands for a while ago, she would want one (or two!). I think it would look good in walnut.

thank you for the comments and as for the design idea it was not all my idea i was looking at other sites and came across the shape and changed it to the earring stand.

well as i said here is the finished earring stand in bamboo

earring stand in bamboo and mahogany

this one is a little bit bigger than the mahogany stand.

all comments welcome. i happen to like the bamboo earring stand the better which do you.

I like the wonky candle holder. Can you give any details on how you did the off-centre part of the turning?

i have got another candl to do so i can do a how to on the wonky candle holder. it is not as hard as it looks. so watch out for it over the next few days.
