hi all

just getting back in to this woodwork carryon, baby and and that.

but the problem is that i purchased a tormek 2000 second hand quite on a whim after a few hours sharpening on oil stone, sore hand and the stone appears to rise all fall a couple of mill with the pulsating of the motor is this normal, would think not because the support is in a fixed position and stone rising and falling would give a bad cut. any clues would help

thanks david

Sounds like your stone needs truing up.

Did the machine come with one of http://www.powertooldirect.co.uk/tormek_tt-50_tt50_diamond_truing_tool_replaces_adv50d_tormek-p-76997.html

Cheers.

I agree with doug, the stone needs truing, when I first got mine it was the same as yours, then I bought a truing tool and it now spins right.
