hi All

after a trip last night with our wood turning club to snanton wood store and shop i was able to get a few items and a small amount of timber. i got my eyes on 2 bits of bur oak befor our member and site friend Sadsam( robby). sorry mate well i just had to turn it and fit the clock face shown. here are the photos of it

hi Derek

thank you mate i like that one as well. it was a of cut from a vase a friend was doing and cut this lump of befor geting started and tost it in the bin so i took it and hense the clock.

nice clock what size is the clock and have you just used oil on it

did you turn the front and back faces or plane them

hi Robby

thank you mate. the clock face is 65mm and i turned the faces then sanded them down to 400 grit. the oil i used was a finishing oil brushed on and then left to soak for 5 mins then i wiped of the excess left for 1 hour and then repeated.

this is the kitchen clock made for a friend. the tile had to be changed as i kracked the first one

i was asked to make a kitchen clock for a friend and this is it . i hade to chang the tile as i cracked the first one .

Hi Dennis

Very nice looking clocks, i especially like the natural edge ones.

With regards your last clock and the tile, did the tile crack with the movement of the wood? and what glue did you use?

hi Mark

the tile cracked as i was tightening the nut up to hold the movements in. i think the tile was a buit damaged so it dident take much.
