wow what a fab work bench shame to have to use it did u make it to a drawring if so id love to see them and may be make one like urs well done mate

No I didn`t use a drawing just built as I went along. I don`t particularly like end vices so decided for two at the front - give great stability when planing long slender pieces. The basic idea was to have a completely free flat top with a very narrow well and no aprons at the front or anywhere for ease of clamping all round. I hope to publish this soon so will give all the sizes and details of the build then.

Just an update on my new bench.
I have been putting the bench into practice for a while now. I can certainly recommend two vices at the front, they are brilliant at giving stability when planing long lengths. Also the flat top and space under the bench top all around means that I can clamp anywhere on the bench. I reckon this bench and design is much better than many that you can buy.
