looks good Dennis, what wood is it. How long did you spend on it altogether.
You will be turning bowls with carving on them next

hi Derek and Fatboy
thank you for your comments. the wood is bass wood easy to carve on. it took me about 2 hours in total over a few days. i am going to level the rest of it of and ad a house number and put it on our wall. funny you should say that i may have a go of carving in to a few of my turnings will have to water and see.

10 out of 10, amazing result for a first attempt, my only criticism is with the photo's that you uploaded, when I click on 'show full size' they aren't shown any bigger.

Looking forward to your next carving.

Add my praise to the others Dennis, well done. Be interesting to see how it goes with carving a turning.

Hello Dennis, A vision of you carving in your hotel room or on the beach or in your caravan or where ever on holiday sounds incongruous. Great stuff for a first attempt, Well done.
Cheers Alan T.

Hi Dennis -- Good to see you extending your skills, I think carving issomething a bit beyond me. Um ! I hate to say it but did you actually take a carving kit away on holiday with you ? I think if I did that my other half would take the car and drive straight back home ! good on you though -- Julian
