OK I want to spread the blame for this one as last year I made the comment that I felt that I was Not good enough to enter the Ally Pally Competition as I had only been turning for a short time. Well after a bit of verbal pushing I entered this year with this piece
Hope you like it.
It is called the GymBall Box
size is 7 1/4" Tall
6 3/4" across
4" dia for the ball
It is made from ply for the ball the 2 rings Sapele and the rest is Beech

I saw this piece today at theshow, and it is as good as it looks.

I will start a different thread with all the entries, but not the winners as there were no signs to say who won, maybe the judging had not been done then

Thank you all for the great comments and did not expect to get anywhere. It was really touch and go whether I sent it. As they say you have nothing to lose.

Will have to wait now for confirmation.

Even though I blame a lot on here for telling me to enter "I'M NOT SHARING"

The only problem now is I have to come up with something better next year

Ron that's normally the type of thing I do Look forward to the pictures

Yes lots out there but deciding what will be the biggest problem. This one I drew out using sketch up

Thanks Steve all I do is just find bits of wood put it on the lathe and make something. I taught myself how to turn with help from the many people on here and one book Wood turning A Foundation course (I think that is correct title.
