Well - 6 hours, does that include the stand ?
My wife had a look through the Revolutions mag that dropped through the door yesterday (the first one by the way) then looked up at the shelf where your last years entry is and just said "gosh there wonderful"

Strewth Dennis - 6 hours!!!!! Did you pause for breath at all while you were making such a beautiful object? It would have taken me 6 hours just to think about how to do it, never mind all the precision cutting and glueing. Well done.

Nice job Dennis. You really have got into this segmenting lark. I take it that it was 6 hours minus the drying time
Good luck for the Competition, hope it is not a two piece entry as last year and if it is lets hope they put it together this time

Hello Dennis, It's all been said by others Just brilliant. Well done and hope you win the comp. Julian. I thought I had possession of Dennis's comp entry from last year an apple containing 3 wine stoppers,or have I got it wrong? Cheers Alan T.

hi All
many thanks for the compliments.
Julian
dose she mean that mine are wonderful or them in the mag.
Simon,Paul,Derek,George
it took 6 hours to do that didn't take the waiting time but did take the actual gluing together and sanding and then the turning.the finish is a mix of melamine lacquer and other ingredients that i am not sure about as Dave the professional wood turner at our club will not divulge. all you do is apply it and then burnish it with wood shavings. the stand was made at work with the help of a friend.
Alan/Julian
you both got one of my entries from last year.Alan the apple wine stopper box and Julian the wine bottle wine stopper box.
Alan/Derek
we will have to see the entry i am entering this year is one piece so no hiccups from them this year( as long as it gets to them in one piece by the post service that is )
