Recently  I have had some terrible gravy out , I had pie and chips and the gravy was  a thick brown multi purpose liquid that could have been used to paint the garden furniture , or on a cold day used for a replacement for tarmac .   twice that happened luckily I ask for the gravy on its own the second time so I was able to avoid having it over every thing in a coagulated mess.

Never ask my father in law for gravy, the last time he made it it was so thick you could stand the spoon up in it, and as for my son he makes it so thick we only gety two meals out of a jar of bisto ?

I cant help laughing for remembering uncle Albert swapped the gravy in 'Only fools & horses' episode where either Rodney or Delboy had the girlfriends parents round for dinner......I think it was coffee

George, I thought this was a wood working site! Unless they thickened it with the contents of the sanders dust collecting bag, sounds as if that might be the case!

My tomato soup is a family legend, we cut up in slices to serve it
