Hi all,

I am looking for plans for a side table. I would appreciate any help that you could give me.

Is there an index of projects for GWW?

Thanks, in advance,

Neil

Niel,

I don't know about plans, but, there are a number of them in the gallery, mine is, top, 800mm. x 450mm., 85mm. rail, and 750 high, you can see sizes on most furniture web-sites.

Derek.

Hi Derek,

Thank you. The proportions of your oak and walnut table are exactly what I was looking for.

Can you please let me know the thickness of the top and legs?

Thanks,

Neil

Niel,

The top was made of planks rub jointed together and were ex 25mm x 150mm. finishing at 22mm. thick.

The legs were tapered to 20degrees starting 100mm. from the top, and wre of 40mm. finished size, (tapered on only the two exposed sides), as you can see I put a strip of Oak under the walnt rail to make a finish and protruding bull nose. hold thetop on with buttons.

There seem to be gaps in this thread!  Come on Derek, show yourself - or at least your posts.

This is wierd!

I've had an email advising me that Derek Willis has responded to my post above but it isn't here.  Or is it?

Can anyone else see Dereks's posts in this thread?

Richard

I can see them, no problem. Are you sure you haven't accidentally clicked on the "Ignore Member" button? Otherwise, there was a thread started by mickthetree recently on a very similar problem - let Ben know!

I can Richard.

I'm having one or two problems with the site today........maybe they are just having a bad day. I suppose it could be that you have Derek ticked in the "Members I am Ignoring" section.........but I doubt it!

Talking of bad days.........my birthday today.........I asked for a gent's saw and got a pair of jeans.......!!

It looks like I must have clicked on something though I don't know what or when.  I don't have Derek's posts for anything, recent or long gone.  I used to get them for sure.  Nothing personal here Derek - promise, it was an accident!  Or maybe the website gremlins did it.

Can you, or anyone else, tell me how to get Derek back?

Mike

Congratulations and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you.  Twenty what is it?

I Can't think of any similatities between gents saws and jeans so it must have been deliberate.  Is someone trying to tell you that you spend too long in the workshop?

Richard

Hi Oddjob, To check the members you're ignoring click 'my profile' on the top left of your screen. Then you should see a range of options along the top centre of your page. Click 'my forum' then expand the 'members I'm ignoring' option beneath it. Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Ben

Thanks Ben - that's fixed it.

I haven't a clue as to how Derek became "ignored." I certainly didn't ignore him on purpose - he is a stalwart and valuable contributor to the forum.

Mike

It's amazing just how wrong some people can get their priorities!
