Hi all

The snows back this morning, but that did not stop the postman delivering  the Good Woodworking edition 225, I had a quick look  while I had my breakfast  a good lot of reviewes and articles to read ,
Also a mystery tool to regognise? But why? did the magazine print on the next page the Gorrilla Glue competition so when you cut out the entry form you distroy part of Mike Riley's article on restoring  moulding planes and the picture of the mystery tool, there are pages of adverts  that could have been on the reverse side.
In the Gorrilla Glue comp . you have to answer a question about the time it takes to form a perfect bond?  the article gives the answer  24 hours but when you look at the three choices  "24 is not amongst the answers ? even if you add on the open time the clamping time it does not add up to 36 hours, is it a trick question or has somebody come unstuck with the answers? perhaps it's me. I suppose you can photo copy the entry form if you have the facilities?
 That's my gripe over George

Afternoon George.

Well-spotted. I'd love to pretend that it's a trick question, but I'm afraid it's a misprint. We'll have to wait and see what readers decide to put on their entries... Watch this space!

Good point about the comp being on the back of the article too - we've had concern over this before, but it was unavoidable this time. Please bear in mind that we accept photocopied coupons too.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the issue.

Darren

Hi George

Very well spotted mate.

I thought it was just me as I was flicking through the other pages to find a clue!

Regarding the entry form, I'm sure they (both advertisers and magazine) think we all have scanners/printers to send a copy instead of cutting up the magazine.
It does sadly show a lack of thought but, it is rarely done on a page that you don't what to cut up............hope this will be a last

Mark, just received my copy of 225, took it to read in bed last night, saw the add for the free 8-page show guide pull-out but could not find it. Do I have the only copy without it or have none of them got it in?

Marc  It said that in the magazine, but it definitely wasn't there. I then checked every page before posting on this sight, but it isn't inthe mag. at all.

Hi John
That's weird!

Those staples go through everything....even your finger when trying to take the insert out!

Our Darren will sort you out mate.

Marc, Thanks for your help, it does seem strange but the grey envelope had no tears or breaks in it so it never fell out in the post and the staples were clamped tight in the centre pages ie. 50 and 51

Got mine ok, if that helps. I was impressed with the number of stalls this year, my only concern is where to sit when having a cuppa!
