Looks like a lot of hours went into this chair, and some beautiful timber as well, european walnut by the looks of it.
If my memory serves me well Hal Taylor not only sells his plans, he also is available for you to ask questions concerning the chair build.
You have done a cracking job on it Alan, and you should be proud of yourself.

hi big Al
ye I designed the foot rest myself and he gave me advice on it an any other probs I came apon. They cost 150 euro or so but anyone would save that money in time saving during the build.

Just looked at your profile, this chair is an amazing achievement for anyone, but even more so for you at such a young age. If this is what you can achieve now, I can only imagine what you will be capable of in 10 years time.

I think you have the skill of a professional, the lines are beautifully done even though I think you may have done this from a plan, non-the-less, its you that made it.
Somebody will be very honoured to sit on it.
Excellent work, well done.

A great chair Alan. The grain on the wood sets it off a treat and I do like the sweeping lines of it

That is fantastic Al. I don't think I would have the patients to create something like that. It is truly stunning.

A truly inspirational piece of work Alan - you stated 150 euros, was that for the plans and assistance, that could not have included the walnut?

It was a little over €150 depending on the exchange rate for plans and unlimited email or phone assistance and you can sell 1 Million of them if you want, Hal has no problem with that . the timber cost €310

Hello Alan,
Just add me to the list of those paying homage to such splendid craftsmanship, at such a tender age too. Green with envy.  Cheers   Alan T.

This is indeed an excellent piece for any woodworker of any age and experience - let alone someone so young!
It looks like the design was heavily-inspired by the late Sam Maloof.
