Thanks for your comments. Yes it has some Japanese styling which I quite like. This is a smaller copy of the larger stand I made for my 42" plasma tv. This is for my smaller 32" lcd tv. I couldnt find good quality stands, they are mainly all glass, big and ugly - so I built my own.

Brian,

Lovely piece of craftmanship. Is this an oiled finish ?

Just used Balck Walnut for the first time. Gives an excellent contrast to the range of oaks available too.

Nice piece of design and workmanship Brian.
I guess that even if you could find this quality in the stores you wouldn't much like the price you would have to pay!

Hi Brian

What a lovely TV stand, well done!

In fact I am so impressed I am tempted to do something similar. Would you mind telling me the dimensions of both of your TV stands please?

Regards

Charlie

Hi Charlie

While your waiting for the measurements, why not fill in your profile so we all can get to know you and what you've done with wood.

Cheers

Marc

Hi Matt,

The finish I have used for both stands is Rustins plastic coating, applied very dilute with a rag 3 to 4 coats, maybe more on the top and using 0000 wire wool between coats. I then give a final wax finish. It does look very much like an oiled finish but more durable.

Charlie I will post the measurements when I have measured up. About to go to London to see my daughter, so maybe in a day or so.
