Really looking like a carp now Marc.
Is it a mirror carp with those big scales?
Keep up the good work.

Hi Baz
Thanks mate.
Yes, I was told the catch was 42lb, shame really as I hadn't enough wood to go full scale.......would of been slightly heavy hanging off the wall too
Still loads to do but, hope to have it done end of next week...........not sure of the finish either, thought about colouring just the reeds, something like what I did with the Owl on the branch.....

We shall see.
Cheers mate

Great peice of carving Marc     The contrast between the branch and the owl really give deapth so should work well with the Carp.  Would you try this out on paper first or just go for it.............Tony

Hi Alan
Thanks to you too. I do like all types of woodworking but, I feel theres nothing like whittling wood
Hi Tony
Thanks very much mate.
Having the wood only 18mm thick to start with certainly needs something to bring it out....
Thanks again lads

fantastic carving Marc, I wish I could carve like that.  I had a go at an owl a couple of months ago and my six year old could have done a better job!

Hi Steve
Thanks mate

I've only been carving for a very short time mate and its only through practise that I hope I'm getting better..........
As my old woodworking teacher said, "anyone can woodwork but its only through practise that woodwork can get better"
Keep going mate and I hope to see your 6 year olds work very soon too
