hello lads does any one out there own the record 12x8 i thinks its the 300 planner thicknesser i was thinking of buying one its at the top end of my buget i need something thats going to do good bit of work i know you get a five year guarantee or would i be better of going for the scheppach hms260 i know the difference size wise and i know what i need it for iam just looking for a machine thats going to the work and not have to worry about to much down time there not much of a price difference and is the scheppach a 16 amp supplie

hi Jay
    firstly i have not got the record plainer thiknesser but i do know that the after sails service from record is exeptional as i have first hand experians. if i were you i would also consider a dust exstactor to go with the thiknesser if you havent got one already as it is needed.

thanks dennis i have a record exstractor already i have to say there not a bad machine i use it with my metabo plannerthicknesser

With regards to the sheppach requiring a 16 amp supply, I have got a sheppach HMS 260 which also requires a 16 amp supply, and I have put a 13 amp plug on it and I have had no problems with the power. The only time you notice it is when you turn it on, and for a split second the lights dim.

thanks big al going with the sheppach nobody seems to know much about the record so ill stick with a brand i know just have to sell my metabo plannerthicknsser first
