I just thought i would share my latest attempts.
These are turned from off-cuts of materials, the main body is sycamore, with any darker colour wood for the roof.
Took about 40 mins to turn and finish.  I was thinking of doing a series of photo`s during my next session to show how they are done.

Thank you
The left one measures 3" from top to bottom.  The right is about 2 and 3/4" I have seen the small birds that can be added, but i find them expensive.  Will work on the photos.
I also have seen the kits that are available, they are £15 ish.

Hi George
My apologies, not long back from holiday, they will maybe house wasps!!
I have done a few more with different pieces of wood for the finials at the bottom.  Will post photos when i can, in fact i took them to work, managed to acrue a couple of orders for them, so back to the shed for a few weeks to complete the orders!!
I have put the How to together and is available on the site.
