Hi guys It is amazing what you can do when passing by a skip full of rubbish. Some workmen were working on a new shop front and I asked if I could help myself to some bits and peices, help yourself  and now I have a nice new router table

Great work, big boab!

Which plate have you used to mount the router? Or, have you bolted it directly underneath your top?

Hi Big Boab,
Great use of freebies. Any chance you will share the design and constuction with the rest of us. It's one of the few things I haven't got and using a router freehand is sometimes a bit dodgy and dusty.  Alan  T.

bigboab=  something went wrong when I posted the picture

OPJ , I did'nt use a plate as there was a 2"&1/2"hole in the top and I just
                        worked round

Derek yes I am tight for space as I wanted to store it in a corner

Baz  Its not cracking as I built it solid (joke)

Alan T  as it was bits and pieces its difficult to explain but it is 34"x24"x16"
the top is a kitchen worktop with a 2"&1/2"hole  in the top I put some
plastic glass with the underside painted white just to show things up
the distance between the top and the shelf is suited to the router size
the drawer is approx 4"&1/2" deep and the space beneath is for odds
and ends which will add some weight if needed

Good work.  Here in New South Wales Australia, local councils have been running competitions called Waste to Art for items created from unwanted materials, and some really good items have been created as a result.  Suggest it to you local council to encourage reuse of materials.
