Ben

Just read your Back to Basics article, its great to see this preliminary  knowledge out in the open. It stuff we are all supposed to know and for the most part take for granted but I bet there is a good many of us who have forgotten some of it.  I for one am going to direct my son to these articles in the hope that it will help him when he starts out in the workshop !  Look forward to the next installment.

Well put together Hugh,

I did a cabinetmaking course over 10 years ago and have recently taken up woodworking again, thanks for the rehash.

Hi Hugh and Steve, thanks for your feedback.

It's always nice to know if an article is helpful in some way. We'll be uploading more from the Back to Basics series soon.

Cheers,
Ben
