First piece for nearly a month as I have been laid up with a bad back and needed something to get back into the shed with.

Anyway during that time I reached the ripe old age of 60 and for a present from my family they treated me to a Peter Child Pyrography machine.

So now that I am able to get back into the shed I thought I would make a vase with a poppy using it.

Made from Ash and stands 4 1/2" tall by 2 1/2" diameter.

Nice job, Derek, you'll have a lot of fun with that.

Wow, that's beautiful. You should advertise this in Australia, there are many Aussie I believe, like me, who would like to bring out one of these on ANZAC Day. Would you consider making more?

This one was the first piece of turning that I have done any pyrography on so not something I have thought of doing. Not only that but to send them to Australia would not be cheap as well as the problems of sending wood which could have to be treated on arrival.

There are many great turners your side of the world who may make some
