After seeing Mark Baker demonstrate making one of these at our club spurred me into having a go. It has been on the tuit list for ages.

Made from mahogany, I was not to happy when the finish went on as it really showed the end grain darker on the inside. The wings are about 1/8" thick to give a lightness to them.

I also changed a couple of my scrapers to negative rake which I found easier to get a good final finish prier to sanding.

Thank you Steven. I feel that the wings could have been a little more dramatic if I had turned them up a little more

Sorry missed your post Steve, as long as you keep your hands and fingers on the right side of the rest no problem.

Gerald not caught my fingers yet
