Hi Chaps

I am trying to source some apple wood to make some replacement teeth for a gear in our local windmill. Ideally fully seasoned timber and enough heartwood to get a blank around 70x70 x180 mm Any suggestions?

regards Martin

Try giving places like "Home of Wood" a call.

Hi Martin,

Sounds like a interesting project, did you get any further with sourcing some suitable wood? my local tree surgeon has a store of a variety of different woods mostly seasoned, might be worth ringing around.

I think Cherry and Hornbeam were often used but I guess you need to match the original wood.

Steve
