I have had this blank sitting in the wood shed for some time, anyway thought I would have a go at turning it.

This measures 13" across and is 2" deep and as the title is from Oak which was hard many trips to the grinder even after attacking it with a carbide tool.

Sanded to 600grit and finished with Cellulose sander sealer and the on to the wheeled buffing system.

I like it Derek, it's a pleasing form and the sanding sealer finish works nicely with the Oak.

Great job! How long does it take to make the bowl? I have never seen the oak bowl, so today it's my pleasure. Thanks!

Hi Alan and welcome the bowl took 1/2 day to turn. Why not start a post and tell us a bit about yourself like your experience in woodworking and roughly where you live

Derek this morning at 8am it was 3C now at 9.30am its 8C being a Geordie by birth but softened up with 55 yrs of living down under after 16 yrs of driving snow tours here a heater just ain't gonna cut it or bring it back to 25C wink 2

Still today I hope to be out there shortly with little fan heater going to take the chill off that should be around 15C. Mind you sun is shining bright its the wind chill and shade on shed till sun comes over the roof at noon. The carpet on floor helps a tad though.
