I am currently looking at the Stratos FU230 and Killinger 1450. Has anyone had experience of either and would care to share comments and opinions

I have not used either of those lathes but I have heard that the Killinger is a good make. One thing to consider is how easy is it to get parts or return items under warrantee.

I have the Killinger 1400 and can't fault it but the Chinese copy sold by Axminster is also very popular and very good.

Axminster use them as their training machines.

Useful information for me. Thank you all and thanks for the link, Julian. Chinese copies continue gratify me day by day.

I would go for the Killinger they are a far superior machine, they're highly recommended around the world.

Good luck and happy turnings.
