Does anyone know how to contact Alan and Anne Funnell? I have been trying to construct a stave bowl using assorted pieces of wood which are randomly assembled and separated with black veneer. Alan made a vase back in 2010 which appeared in Woodturning magazine vol 211 of March 2010 p60. I have used too much good wood in unsuccessfully trying to construct such a random wood pattern.
Any ideas on how to assemble random patterns of wood are certainly welcome to comment.

Hi the key is to pre-plan where each segment is going to be, I usually draw out the "style" that I want as an end result (remembering that when turning straight lines WILL curve)
Feel free to contact me for further information.
Good luck, happy turnings.
