I 1982 I was in the royal navy and a Falklands veteran. over the years I have remembered all who fell in my own little way. well a few months ago I found a meddle for doing the Falklands half marathon that I did in 1987. not knowing exactly what to do with this I put it to the side and pondered about it. well Derek Laine had give me an idea not so long ago he did a bowl with a metallic insert so I decided to use the meddle as a centre of this teak bowl so here is the outcome. my little remembrance bowl.  thank you Derek. all comments welcome.

That is nice Dennis. I like the way that you have kept the bowl simple so not to distract the medal as that is what it is all about. I am glad that you did not just put the medal in without first taking note of the grain direction, sometimes people forget such a simple thing.

hi Derek

thank you for your comments and the help you did in producing the earlier bowl to give me the idea in the first place.

the grain direction was a no brainer as soon as I laid the meddle in you could see which way showed the meddle to its best.

What a great piece this has turned out to be (pardon the pun). A great way to display the medal and preserve the memory of it's achievement, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say I am very proud of our armed servicemen and women, great job Dennis
