On the final stages of a Jewelry box for my wife, knocked off the end of my bench, it landed on my compressor and put a big dent in the lid. I was just about to start the finishing waxing, what a complete bummer! Now where did i put that bottle of Whiskey!

Thread: What are good starting tools?

I have made lots of my clamps, jigs and general work aids because i am on a bit of a budget, plus I get a bit more satisfaction out of using something I have made, I use these picture frame clamps on a regular bases.

My advise is not to go on Ebay after a bottle of wine or two as I did. when buying tools way up how often you are going to use them and the make a judgement if you really need to buy it. Also lots of tools you will need can be made by your self.

Thread: ELEKTRA BECKUM HC260 PLANER THICKNESSER
31/08/2011 17:44:34
Problem solved! I took your advise and set the blade height to the same as the out feed table with a dial indicator and now it works fine, thank you all for your kind replies.

Hi, first of all I will start of saying sorry because I know this question has been asked before, I have just turned my blades around on my Thickness Planer (Elektra Beckum HC260) and the machine is not cutting well at all, I have set the blades .004" higher than the table that is the higher of the two. Is this correct or should they be set .004" than the lower of the two tables?
