I was giving branch from a club member that he won in the club raffle, not sure what it is but the first thing that came to mind was mushrooms with a couple of coats of teak oil.

Thanks for your reply's, its an open back Bill it looks like the gearing at the back is covered in grease which saw dust has stuck to. I think i will take your advice bill and clean it with WD-40 and give it a blast with a air line.Hi Ron you say a dry lubricant or ptfe spray do they sell it in diy stores or builders merchants. Iv'e done a bit of research and the and they say you should soak the chuck in kerosene, any advice welcomed. |

They sure are Alan I am already thinking on the next one, I was hoping this one would of stayed on the mantel but I came home from work yesterday and discovered my mother had called fell in love with the clock so the wife gave it to her so clock No 3 is on the cards. |

Hello Derek, It's not something Iv'e done myself but two weeks ago at our club meeting we had the pleasure of wathching professional wood turner George Foweraker turning wall plaques and then scorching them and then colouring the wood with chesnut stains using a diffuser and then lacquer.
