Hi

I remember a chap on this site and he made vases ect from Parquet flooring and he had to get the bitumen from each of the slatesI think he was an administrator on the site but Ive not seen hin on this site for a long while now I always enjoyed his projects and he didnt have much equipment face plates ect it was very clever I think he went by he name Sparky or Sparkie Ive tried to find the old posts but alas I think its a lot of hard work getting bitumen off

Take care

Thread: what to do with a pice of checked and split wood
07/09/2012 13:45:07

Hi Derek

Very nice bowl but a wee idea (maybeyou do this already) that I use is, if you go to your local key cutting shop and ask the to keep all the filings for you, you will get a big bag full, then get a magnet take out the iron filings and you have beautuful new brass filling left, mixed with resin idea for work like this and it not cost a penny

cheers

Thread: 2012 SHOWS
07/01/2012 12:35:28
Hi
I asked on another woodturning site abt a woodturning calander, which I dont think there are any as I think a lot of amateur woodturners/workers would like a woodworking calander and to give as a gift to others,
I think the manufacturers and stockists that are advertized on both sites/magazines that each could take a month with a nice pic of their wares and all the larger shows (which have to be booked at year in advance) could be marked on the calander and room to write down the local shows
Its just an idea
Thanks for your time

Thread: Record chisels
07/04/2009 13:38:18
Hi I use Record chisels, I like them they are well made and comfortable to use I have every chisel they have made the only thing with record is that when you want specialist chisels like beading, captive ring or texturing ect you have to purchase elsewhere like Robert Sorby or Ashley Iles which means a change of weight and handle style of the chisel
