|Thread: Cedric's bandsaw|
Cedric, I just stumbled across your ancient post about the Willow. I have one of these bandsaws. I visited and bought it direct from the factory that Les mentions c. 1982. I opted for the 15' cast iron table ( If I recall correctly I think they used to weather the castings outside for a bit) and has a brook compton motor, one speed driving the lower wheel. The frame is cast steel and it has the fiberglass cover.
Its seen plenty of use in its time in shaping up bits of hardwood for instrument making and has served me well, and it still has the original rubber on the wheels. I also bought a Willow "whippetoff' sander that is also going strong. Well made reasonably priced machines. The only difficulty I have found is getting the right length blade for the bandsaw. The manual says 92.5" but often they come up fitting a bit slack when the adjustment is taken as as it can..
