Another superb job Martin. Quality all the way! Cherry is one of my favourite timbers to turn, and our kitchen units all have solid cherry doors. I find it can sometimes be a bit patchy when applying a stain and/or finish, so I'd be interested to know what the finish is that you've used.

Hi ssumo thanks for you comments, finish wise it was Danish oil 2 coats. It has gone slightly darker now and looks very warm

I do like that. Great job Martin. The raised panel doors are obviously solid wood - is it all solid or is some veneered boards. If the latter, did you lip/edge with solid wood or veneer?

Hi Delboy

yep you are correct, the carcass are pre veneered board with solid lipping. The shelves are solid to help prevent sag

I agree Martin - a superb job, something for everyone to aspire to. Presumably you did all the veneering yourself?

Yep all made from scratch in my workshop, You might not be able to tell from the pictures but there is an applied moulding on the doors and end panels as well.

Thanks for your comment

yes could you brief me on posting pics, I did try to follow the picture posting guide and failed. I have lots of other projects I want to post.

This is a recently completed piece for a client in Wimbledon. The doors are flamed mahogany with brass pear drop door pulls. The open shelving above is framed with a Ovolo cornice and Astragal details.
