The European Woodworking Show is widely regarded as one of the most diverse and interesting on the woodworking calendar with its strong representation of green woodworking crafts, cabinet making, woodcarving, musical instrument making, horse logging, chairmaking, pyrography, Japanese joinery techniques, scroll sawing and of course, woodturning.
This is the 6th staging of The European Woodworking Show at Cressing Temple Barns with the emphasis firmly focused on high quality demonstrations backed up by respected trade stands. EWS 2015 will have 80 plus exhibitors/stall holders utilising all the available space of this historic site near Braintree in Essex.
For woodturning enthusiasts there is plenty to enjoy as Joey Richardson from Lincolnshire joins fellow professional turners Mark Hancock and Nick Agar in the magnificent Barley Barn. This is Joey's first visit to the show and her colourful work is sure to attract a great deal of interest. The AWGB will be in attendance with their popular woodturning clinic and pole lather Chris Griggs will be demonstrating in close proximity to the ever popular St. Peters Brewery wagon.
Timber will be on sale at the show through Mac Timbers, Lincolnshire Woodcrafts & NB Timbers plus Robert Sorby, Turners Retreat (with Jet Machinery), Magma Lathes, Chestnut Products, Abranet Sanding and a host of other trade stalls will be in attendance.
Woodturning Clubs are currently making group bookings (10 or more) and benefitting from the discounted ticket prices. Colchester Woodturners and East Herts Woodturners are bringing over 50 members to this year’s show. For group booking please e-mail Joy@ews2015.com for discounted pre-booked individual tickets please visit the web site at www.ews2015.com
Car parking is free but regretfully dogs (except guide dogs) are not permitted in the venue (excluding car park). A variety of food and drink is for sale at the venue including delicious Indian & Chinese dishes, a bar b q, ice cream and beer to make for an enjoyable day out. The walled garden and the historic barns and cart lodges make this an unusual but very appealing venue for a fine woodworking event which is located only a few miles from some major East of England arterial roads which makes travel by car relatively straightforward from most parts of the country and with Stansted only 20 minutes ago expect to hear a few Irish and continental accents amongst the visitors.
