Makita introduces American style one-handed router

    makita router
    • “D” handle 1/2inch router
    • 30mm max depth, 23,000rpm
    • Lightweight at 3.5kg for easy use

Makita have added a new one-hand operation design of router to their extensive router range for use where extensive edge profiling is required. If a bullnose edge needs to be formed onto long runs of solid timber worktops or window boards, this American style, non-plunge type router is ideal.

The new Makita 3601B “D” handle router has a ½ “ collet capacity for all long shank router bits, a no load speed up to 23,000rpm and a maximum throat depth of 30mm with a very accurate micrometer-style depth adjuster.

The base plate will carry an adjustable side fence for accuracy of run and this new 3601B single hand router is powered by a 930watt motor available in either 110v or 240v variant.

The low position of the motor in relation to the cutter position means that this one-handed machine has a very low centre of gravity which makes it inherently stable which in itself makes the single handed use safe, easy and accurate.

In use, the convenience of the single hand control means that this router is particularly suited to long edge runs where the machine can be kept moving along the material edge.
