After a busy few days at this years show, here's a look at some of the highlights. Expert demonstrations really do give a show its edge so it was great to see John Jordan over from the USA with his Turning master class. Thanks to Robert Sorby for helping make this happen.
It was good to see Ben Russell too with his carving master class. I'm always amazed by the level of detail in Ben's work. French polishing and general finishing demonstrations were given by John E Pizey which went down well. Christopher Hall was there as the Gentleman Joiner sponsored by DeWalt, and Tony Rhodes master class was sponsored by Record Power.
The Woodworker's turning competition was impressive this year. The overall standard of entries was very good and our display on the Magicalia stand attracted a good deal of interest. Thanks once again to our sponsors for their ongoing support of the competition ~ we really do appreciate it!
There were some exciting new product release from Bosch, DeWalt, Festool, Record Power and Scheppach - news stories coming soon with the details.
WW contributor Ralph Laughton managed to pick up one of the impressive looking Revo routing jigs and a San-flee portable drum sander at the show, so keep an eye out for reviews of those in a future issue of WW.
