after turning the hollow form yesterday I had to get on with the finial to finish it of. what a bad night I had tonight trying to getting the finial completed. eventually I got there not fully happy with it as I had to spray it black and as you do you touch it to soon so had to start again. sanded down and then left a loan. all comments welcome.dscf5207.jpgdscf5199.jpgdscf5198.jpg

hi Robby the form is about 5high and 4 1/2 wide the finial is about 5" and about 1/8 in places. will be at the club Wednesday with the latest turnings if you there.

Another nice piece Dennis. Was some of the shapes you used from Mark Sangers book as like you I have just brought it so far a good read

He is very helpful and I found him very easy to talk to like many turners can talk for quite a while.

I did a one day course with Mark last year, In my humble opinion he is the absolute master of the hollow form he's a smashing guy and a great teacher Nothing is to much trouble he know his subject inside out and like all people who are really good at what they do. he makes it all look so easy and knows how to put it over. I would recommend his one day course to anybody who wants to learn this popular technique.Ged Meager
