Would it be possible to set up a directory of the different firms members recommend in the forum posts. Perhaps subdivided into sections such as hardware, finishes, tools etc.
I ask this as at the moment i`m looking for jewelery box latches, i know a few hardware firms have been mentioned in different threads, but it means trawling through threads or posting a new thread, which is just going over old ground.
As the forum gathers speed more & more threads are posted, so finding information you know has been posted, becomes quite a job.
Also if firms realise they have been recommended buy a member, & are on a register on this site, it might encourage them to advertise with you.
I imagine you would have to police it to stop people posting a couple of posts then recommending their own firm. But i`m sure you could weed out the genuine from the non-genuine.
