    Basic Flat Lattice 4

The process involved in any “lattice” is simple, turn grooves in opposite sides and on differing centres of a piece of timber so that where they meet there is a piercing. It really is that simple and this flat lattice is the basis for many variations of turning them so have fun and enjoy turning them.

Yes Ralph, make a square one and by not using a saw to trim it square!

    Marc

Do you mean a square edge piece like in the picture or a square lattice ?

The first no problem, the second would need a bit of working out to see if it can be done ?

Ralph is there any chance of a photo of the back of the top photo please.

    Baz.

How about a tube, with two helixs? The outside one at right angles to the inner. (Thinking about it, it would be easier to weave it than to turn it). Think of it as a left-hand screw thread on the outside and a right-hand screw thread on the inside.

    Good luck!

    Yes Baz

Here it is ... It measures approximatelly 9 inches in diameter and the bowl in the centre is about 1 3/4 deep & it was turned from Castello Boxwood

I think i have worked it out, a square Lattice, must try it out ?

Baz my wife has the job.... well the tea part anyway !

Mike you lost me with "helix" but if you turn a tube you couldn't turn insida and out on two different centres.?

    Ralph
