    Drawer repair

I have been given the task of re-uniting a kitchen drawer front (wood) with a plastic drawer. The previous 'repairer' used 6" nails (well not quite) and clear silicone.

The silicone has made a right mess of the inside of the drawer front and despite using a scraper and just picking it off this stuff is really obstinate.

Does anyone know of a method of getting dried and caked on silicone off wood?

    Thanks, Jonny B

Weapon of choice: WW2 Flame thrower!! Bonus if it melted the plastic drawers at the same time!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, though.........I have seen a silicon remover at my Builder's Merchants, so I would try a visit to your local one and see what they have. I have a feeling, though, that whatever repair you attempt is doomed to eventual failure because of the weak mature of the plastic.
