    Ben et al......

given the number of times that people mention having trouble re-sizing their photos for inclusion in a gallery, how about posting a permanent link (not within a thread, but somewhere obvious) so that anyone can be directed to one of the free picture editing downloads? You might then also add a small set of instructions for that download.

If it were permanently available on the "Add Image" section of the Gallery for instance, this might avoid having to repeatedly explain the process!

    Hi Ben,

I've got a chap trying to post a drawing.......and this facility would be really useful to him. Any news on progress?

    Mike,

Tell him to use Pixresizer, so simple.

    derek.

I'll second that. I've tried Picasa as well but Pixresizer is still a lot easier and you can reduce the file size by much more.

    Derek, Ollie...

What I am suggesting is a permanent link to Pixresizer (plus Photoshop, Picasa and any others) with some instructions as to how to use it, in the "Add Image" section, so that newcomers can sort their pictures out without having to ask how to do it.

I'm sure it is one of the reasons we aren't seeing many new galleries.

    Here it is again.

    Save picture as JPEG

Open in Pixresizer, follow these steps.

    Should say JPEG.

    size 450 x600, custom size.

    tick maintain aspect ratio.

    Tick save data.

    Then.

    Load pic. scroll to picture

    Open picture.

    click on apply reccomended.

    Clock on save picture.

Picture is saved alongside whereever you had it before but in the new size.

Now it is yours to upload as and when you want to.

    Good work Derek,

the point is to get the powers that be to place that in a suitable location so that it is available with one click for newcomers....who won't know of the existence of this thread and the many others like it.

Or, you mark this thread as a "Sticky" in one of the forums, meaning that it cannot disappear down the list with hundreds of others.
