Is the product you used called just Pink Grip, and is a Gripfill product, which is basically a wall panel adhesive, the diy version being No More Nails?

 it must be by the same firm as gripfill & all their panel adhesive but this is called D4 wood bond ,the blurb says ( new hybrid resin      totally waterproof        sets in 10 minutes          dries clear) a new revolution in wood glue all the advantages of P U with none of the drawbacks ! it really is quite good & if you get it on you it peels off like pva but bonds quick like a P U ,and it was only a fiver for a litre.

Ahh....the woodworking one. There is a builder's one which is for sticking skirting boards etc.

The problem for me with this is that for furniture making it sets too quickly.....a big glue-up then clamping and squaring session can go horribly wrong if the glue sets before you have everything the way you want it. If there were a half hour version of the same stuff, I would give it a try.....

 yes thats true ,if i need to fiddle about i usually use titebond,this stuff is ideal when you promise your mum some fancy tea light holders & then forget you said it,until she phones to say will pick them up the next day,to be able to glue up then chuck them in the thicknesser after an hour.

Hi guys just took deliver of my order from Rutlands and i have two quinstions .

One i odered some Titebond  III ultimate and on reading the user tips it reads "Not for strutural or load bearing applications" this surle,y doesn't mean table & chairs ,now i worried .

Two ,intend to make a router table and to this end i ordered some T track and T bolts & knobs .Now i did intend to order one lenght of 3/4 track sutible for a mitre fence thats looks ok but the two lenghts of 1/2 arived as 3/4 as well (my fault )but now i think about it and having put the veriners across the head of the T bolts (see picture )i cant see how these bolts will work in 1/2 track,it would surley need to be 5/16 ? And now they have no stock of the 1/2 track "bugger ".

I would relax on the Titebond clause..........I'm sure that refers to buildings.

Even if it doesn't, you wouldn't use any glue to hold structure.........it is the joint that holds the load, and the glue simply holds the joint together.

Could you not utilise the extra 3/4 track, & order bolts that fit that?

Thanks Mike ,I do use spell checker ,when it's working ! Even when i'm two sheets to the wind and dyslexic.

The Axminster track is also 3/4,which would make all the bolts in the kit redundant.

I have been a mite busy of late, and haven't done much 'forumming'!

As for glue, for general woodwork, I have only ever use Evostik PVA (both interior and exterior grades) and for those really exposed jobs, I liked Cascamite. That's a "mix-it-as-you-need-it" adhesive and I always made too much for the job I was doing. I gradually got used to knowing how much I needed, though and I do like the stuff.

The problem is, I haven't had casue to use any for some time and now I am going to have to do a web-search.  They might not make Cascamite anymore!

I am in the middle of reorganising the workshop, whilst trying to work that around making a garden table and benches! So you can imagine I am busy...   

Photos when the job is finished, some time this week I hope. It's nothing special, but it finds a use for some Cedarwood I had hanging around far too long!  

I found the Cascamite online, but they call it ResinMite now!

God! The price of it too! Oh well... Gotta have it I suppose...

I had a nice surprise today, a neghbour builder friend of mine, called me over and gave me four Litre botttles of Soudal P.U. Glue, they were delivered by mistake, two went to site where nobody liked it, so the rest are mine for free!!! How could I turn them down? Gonna find a lot of uses for P.U.Glue soon.

Soudal is the name of the manufacturer. They make a whole variety of liquids in tubes, including all sort of silicons, glues etc........... The "PU"  is polyurethane glue........sticks like crazy, fills gaps, cures very fast, and turns your hands black.

A fair description of a very good product that is exceedinly srong,(and expensive, checked a cataloge, these four items are nearly £80:00 to buy).
