    Amazing first attempts!

    Did you use a ring tool or a skew?

    Neither.

    The main body of the piece was formed with roughing and spindle gouges and then I used a couple of allen keys that one of the old boys in the workshop had ground down and fitted to handles, one for the left and one for the right.
