I don't know about anyone else but it would be really helpfull if you had to opt to have an email to let you know when there is an update to a thread, at the moment you have to opt out ! or at least the box is already ticked.

I keep forgetting then at the end of the day i check my email and i find that  i have to delete several notifications, before i can read any other email

I realy enjoy getting involved with the online discussions but find this one thing teadius.

    Thanks Ralph

Even though i clicked to say i didn`t want notifying i still get them, & as i don`t check my emails that regularly, i sometimes have up to 40 notifications to delete.

Is there no way of stopping them!!!!!!

They can be stopped for existing threads, by individually clicking on that thread in the appropriate section of "My Profile"......but you cannot set it so that new threads don't send a notification.

I, too, find this very annoying indeed.

Surely it would be simple for the company who designed the site to switch the arrow from automatically on to opt on,?

But then i know very little about computers so i wouldn't know ?

I took the tick out of every thread when I went away for a few days, when I came back I hjad no notifications whatsoever. I had to trawl through all the sites to see what had happened in my absence.

I got a notification of a response to my (first) posting, and it turned out not to be a response at all.

Denis it might sound daft but i recomend you ignore them and just check the site.
