    Baz, Sparky,

This is how I reckon a workshop floor should look!

However, my biggest regret with this workshop is that I didn't coat the floor with one of those two-part floor treatments. That would have made sweeping up 10 times easier.

So does mine, Marc..............but I kinda enjoy walking around in the detritus of work. It shows I've been busy!

Its never to late to put a two part paint finish on the floor Mike, it`s what i used & is excellent. The vac glides over it & the dust fairies approve as well!!!!!!!

Hey Mike hope you don't smoke!

Believe it or not, Mike, my workshop floor is in a similar state at the moment... Shavings all over the place! Do you also end up walking a trail through the house? My mum loves that...!

Just to prove i don`t just clean the place, even the extractor bag got filled this week. They will have to get more horses at the stables it all goes to.

Looking good Baz! Just what I wanted to see......but Sparky is on his way with the dust-buster!!

Where did you stand to take this photo? Looks like you are on the worktop.

Sparky`s started using the dog`s tail now it cuts down on labour. But dogs seem to have a tendency to bite me so i`ll stick with the extractor.

I was definitely standing on the floor when the photo was taken, i`ve only just started on the red wine .

    Baz.

I must admit (again!) that having the shavings/dust on the floor when its freezing outside does make it feel quite warm under foot.

I've passed on your kind words to the wife.........she said your right and I shouldn't of posted a picture of her and the kids on the website!

My favourite thing about lots of shavings on the floor is you can bet that after the first time you think, i should sweep up, you drop something small like a nut etc into it all.

You then spend the next hour sifting through it as the nut is a one off with a special thread.

I don`t know about you boys but sod`s law should have been my middle name.

Thank for the coment about my work shop floor. As a new comer i new understand where this thread came from. I've been looking all over the site trying to get my head around it. Any tips, when You look at other peoples pics it says about rate then do you rate them all or just the one you like.

    Show/hide user stats

    Paul,

I don't rate any of them. If I could remove one thing from this site it would be that option. I think people should be free to post anything here without worrying about how people might rate it. If I don't like something, I don't comment.

How do you compare someone's very first project in wood, made with a couple of hand-tools, with someone else who is a full-time professional with access to all of the best tools, timber and finishes? Some people haven't got a router....let alone a CNC router that could carve the Venus deMilo.

As for finding your way around the site........I start with Forum / Latest Posts

    Mike

PS.......that doesn't necessarily mean that if I haven't commented I don't like the work!!! I also generally don't comment on turning, and I often miss stuff in the gallery anyway.....
